Found in the Forest Youth Theatre

Welcome to Found in the Forest Youth Theatre! We are a vibrant, creative theatre group based in the heart of the Forest of Dean at The Wesley, Cinderford. Our mission is to provide young people with the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop their skills in the Performing Arts. We offer weekly classes for 8-12 and 13-18 year olds. We welcome all abilities from complete beginners to experienced performers. Our weekly classes are designed to help young people develop their confidence communication and performance skills as well as providing a safe and supportive environment to explore the world through theatre. We make shows, create characters, script write, devise and play to make exciting new theatre.

Current Projects

Fowl Play

Fowl Play is a devised piece that tells a story of the river Wye and how certain aspects of agriculture can impact water quality.

In the small town, the serene flow of the Wye has always been a lifeline for the community. However, the town’s idyllic charm is threatened when chicken farms set up on its outskirts. As the farm grows, so does the concern among the townspeople about the potential consequences on their beloved river.

Fowl Play challenges audiences to reflect on their own roles within larger ecological systems and consider the collective responsibility we bear for the health of our shared resources.

FOWL PLAY is being performed as part of the Wye Valley River Festival on Sunday 12th May 2024. It is free! Come and see us at 2pm.

Warren James

Nestled within the ancient woodlands of the Forest of Dean lies the legend of Warren James—a tale of courage, defiance, and the enduring bond between a community and its land. Set against the backdrop of the early 19th century, “Warren James: Guardian of the Forest” transports audiences to a time of upheaval and change as the industrial revolution encroaches upon the tranquil beauty of the forest, threatening to destroy its natural riches for profit.
